Official and independent radio audience figures released yesterday, shows that The Bay Radio station has retained its number one position across north Lancashire and south Cumbria.

The station, which broadcasts from St George's Quay in Lancaster, continues to reach more listeners each week than any other commercial or BBC local/national station in the local market place.

The Bay remains 20,000 listeners ahead of it's nearest competitor (Radio 2) and over 25,000 listeners more than Radio 1 in north Lancashire and south Cumbria.

The official figures also gives The Bay a market share which is five times bigger in the market place than BBC Radio Lancashire.

The Bay's overall reach also came in well ahead of BBC Radio Cumbria and The Bay's breakfast show, hosted by Danny Matthews also delivered the most popular breakfast show in the area.

Last year The Bay's studios were officially re-opened by pop star sensation Olly Murs following the severe damage caused by Storm Desmond.

This year the station has announced they are behind new projects, including the soon to launch 'Bay Living Magazine' and the Bay Living Awards together with numerous community events and initiatives.

2018 will see the station celebrate 25 years on air.
