Cleator Moor-based energy engineering company Delkia has welcomed Will Coulthard as principal power engineer and Stewart Watkins as the company’s managing director.

Mr Coulthard, a chartered engineer, joins the firm from Jacobs . He originally trained as an electrical apprentice at Sellafield and worked in different areas of the site before studying a masters in power engineering.

Mr Watkins brings with him over 30 years of experience working in the civil nuclear and pharmaceutical industry. He moved from Doosan Babcock , where he was a senior project manager.

Furness Building Society has appointed Matthew Dobson as its new finance director.

He has more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry and has held senior roles in both the treasury and finance teams at Barclays . Most recently, he was head of debt capital at Williams and Glyn Treasury , part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group .

Also at the Furness , Phillip McLelland has become a non-executive director.

A qualified management accountant, he started his career in the building society sector and his full time job is currently finance director in the consumer credit division at Provident Financial , responsible for leading the finance function.

The human resources team at Carlisle-based construction firm Story Homes have picked up a highly commended award in the HR Team of the Year category at the prestigious HR Distinction (HRD) Awards.

They beat high-profile competitors for this title, including

Sodexo , Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group, Network Rail and Harrow College.

Feed company, Advanced Nutrition , has appointed Caitlin Palmer as ruminant technical specialist working in west Cumbria.

She graduated from the University of Glasgow with a first class honours degree in veterinary bioscience, hails from Auldgirth, near Dumfries and brings a wealth of practical experience in dairy and sheep farming.

Lisa McLachlan is joining Napthens solicitors’ expanding team in Cumbria by moving to the firm's Kendal office from its operation in Preston. She joined Napthens in 2008 will provide family law services from in Kendal.
