Progress: McBride says it has improved margins and cut costs
THE toiletries and washing powder manufacturer McBride has made an “encouraging” start to the 2016-17 financial year.
In a trading update covering the six months to December, it said that earnings were continuing to improve thanks to progress on margins and costs.
The statement said: “The board remains comfortable that the business is on track to deliver its full year expectations for adjusted operating profit.”
The company has a factory in Park Road, Barrow, which employs 125 people. It announced 15 jobs losses there last autumn.
