PENRITH-based confectionery firm Traybakes, has launched a new product at a major trade event.

Its granola cake will be unveiled at the Farm Shop and Deli Show in Birmingham, which started yesterday and runs until tomorrow (wed).

It is designed to form part of a breakfast or a daytime snack.

Judith Keating, the marketing manager of Traybakes, said: “We’ve developed this Granola recipe with our eye firmly on health and nutrition.

“In taste tests, it proved to be a winner with everyone who tried it.”

Traybakes is based at the Food Technology Centre at Redhills Business Park, manufactures a variety of cakes which are produced in service trays for the food service industry and in individually wrapped slices or shelf-ready cartons.

It was set up in 1990 in a converted dairy in Northumberland and moved to Cumbria in 2013.

Last year the company supplied its products to the Wimbledon tennis tournament and was approached by Amazon.
