A total of 30 new jobs will be created at a Lake District hotel once its latest renovations are completed.

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa has been undergoing a £16m revamp to refurbish all existing rooms and build new leisure facilities, along with an atrium, spa and an additional restaurant concept, “Blue Smoke”.

The business has also added 46 new bedrooms, a health club, a multi sports pitch, an indoor spa, an outdoor spa with hot tubs, a heated infinity pool and a sauna.

The renovation has been ongoing since the new year and the resort is due to reopen in April.

English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venue, which owns the hotel, is beginning its recruitment drive for over 15 new posts and eventually intends to increase the number of full time jobs to 30.

Nevil Jeffery, the general manager at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, said: “As the construction work to transform the hotel into a luxury resort is progressing and our scheduled opening date draws nearer, we are now looking closely at the recruitment of dedicated catering and hospitality professionals across several key disciplines.

“We have been able to retain our original team within the hotel group, and others who were on temporary contracts will be returning too.

“These additional new roles will add to the excitement of the new resort opening its doors for the first time in April after the first phase of our work has been completed.”

The hotel is looking for pastry chefs and night porters as well as bar supervisors and management staff.
