A Carlisle consultancy firm has expanded into civil engineering with the addition of a new member of staff.

Prospus Group has welcomed Paul Scott to the business.

Mr Scott is a degree-qualified civil and transportation engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry and the residential, commercial, healthcare, and renewables sectors.

He will lead the firm's new civil engineering team.

His expertise in civil engineering will complement Prospus' planning, architectural, and energy teams.

Before joining Prospus Group, Mr Scott was the lead civil engineer on the SSE framework, providing civil engineering design for several electrical substations in remote areas of Scotland.

He also designed wind farm access tracks over challenging and environmentally sensitive terrain.

On joining Prospus, Mr Scott said: "I’ve welcomed the opportunity to work at Prospus and become part of their team of diverse and motivated individuals.

"One area that attracted me to the business is the fact that their projects are as diverse as their people, from modular holiday accommodation, and innovative energy solutions using heat pumps and Solar PV, to master planning for motor racing tracks.

"I’m excited to offer my expertise to all aspects of Prospus’ projects and grow the engineering services we can provide our clients."

Prospus Group provides a range of consultancy services including planning, architecture, and renewable energy, with a focus on carbon reduction.

Derek Mitchell, director at Prospus Group, said: "Paul is an excellent addition to the team.

"He is always looking for new and innovative solutions to construction problems and this combined with his areas of expertise will provide considerable value to many of our clients."
