I HAVE written previously about my unease about the usefulness of anyone voting tactically for the Sir Keir Starmer-led Labour Party in either Herefordshire parliamentary constituency and had letters published in print in Hereford Times to that effect, but with no response from Herefordshire Labour Party.

Well, on April 5 I got a telephone call from an 80-year-old former North Herefordshire constituent who moved some time ago to be closer to younger family members in Worcestershire.

ALSO READ:

He told me that his membership of the Labour Party had started with Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership and ended with Sir Keir’s removal of the party whip from his predecessor.

The cue for my friend’s call was that Sir Keir’s newly announced commitment to (a £205bn and counting public spending commitment) as ‘bedrock’ of Britain’s defence strategy after all the previous ditched “pledges” had so disgusted him that he had just joined the Green Party.

What are your thoughts?

You can send a letter to the editor to have your say by clicking here.

Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.

I wonder where other 2019 Labour voters stand with regard to all that? Maybe they will be quicker at replying to this letter than Labour are at announcing their Hereford and South Herefordshire constituency parliamentary candidate?

Either way, they will have to get their skates on if they want to win any votes at the next general election!
