Cumbrian specialist systems integrator, Delkia, announces the appointment of three senior engineers and the return of a previous intern.

The move comes as the company continues to expand, with staff numbers increasing from 15 to 56 since 2020, including 37 consultant engineers.

The company has also seen a growth in turnover from £6.4m to £7.3m, leading it to expand staff numbers across various departments.

New senior EC&I engineer, Craig Henderson, brings experience as an RPI Mechanic at Cavendish Nuclear to Delkia's Egremont facility.

His role involves implementing electronic solutions to the company's projects.

Mr Henderson said he was interested in Delkia as "they are a young company that is making great strides forward to becoming a major player in the engineering industry."

Kevin Montfort joins Delkia as another senior EC&I engineer and will operate from his home office.

His role includes digital and design engineering, system integration and technical consultancy.

Mr Montfort said: "I was interested in the job location, type, vision, values, and the benefits at Delkia.

"The interviewing process was relaxed, positive and matched the company values."

Alongside the EC&I engineers, Sam Southwell has joined as an Avionics Systems Engineer, based in Delkia's Preston office.

Sam brings with him 28 years of industry experience, including 22 years with the Royal Air Force.

Mr Southwell said: "I was looking for a new challenge and it was time to go back to where I started as part of the bigger picture of avionics."

Aaron Kelly, a computer science student at Lancaster University, also re-joins the Delkia team as a part-time intern.

He will be providing integral support for IT systems across the business.

Mr Kelly said: "I chose Delkia because of the variety of work on offer and the number of interesting sectors the company is involved in."

The company also welcomes recent work experience student, Rebecca Young.

Delkia's growing team is spread across the UK, with the head office located at Westlakes Science and Technology Park near Whitehaven.

The company also has offices and an R&D Lab in Preston, Lancashire, and production facilities in Egremont.
