Ulverston Town Centre will be transported back in time at the weekend as Retro Rendevouz festival gets underway.
The Vintage festival will have plenty of retro music, food, drink, dance, clothes, markets, cars and motorcycles from different eras.
The festival will be in Market Street and New Market Street with live music hosted at the Sun Hotel in its beer garden. From Saturday June 3 to Sunday June 4 there will be artisan market stalls, performers and vintage vehicle exhibitors.
There will also be the famous Velo Retro old-school cycling events through the Lake District. There are three vintage cycling events within the Lake District World Heritage Site which are organised by Sportive Lakes.
In terms of music, artists range from the 1950s vintage songstress Becki Fishwick to the 60s and 70s rock and soul of The Cascaras. Other acts also include classic punk rip-snorter band PV-77 and Kev Kendal's classic solo 90s tunes.
The event has gained the reputation of being the "friendly festival" and last year Old Time Sailors entertained festival goers in a giant marquee in Ford Park. This year promises to be different but organisers still promise something special.
Stalls will be full of retro and vintage products, cycling clothing and parts, creative and craft items as well as quality street food and drinks.
The festival is free and gets supports from Ulverston Town Council however it would appreciate support from the general public. Organisers are currently taking donations which will help to pay performers, insurance, licensing, sound engineers and advertising.
The festival is tight on space so all vehicles need to be moved prior to the festival dates. Street Closures will be in place on Saturday and Sunday through Market Place, Market Street and around New Market Street.
Access can still be gained via Cross St and Brogden St will remain open. To find out more information about the Retro Rendevouz festival, please visit the website.
