A leading construction and infrastructure company in the nuclear industry has received two highly commended recognitions at the 2023 Women in Nuclear (WiN) Awards.

The remarkable accomplishment by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure highlights the company's ongoing dedication to fostering inclusion, diversity, and gender balance within its organisation and the nuclear sector as a whole.

Claire Morfoot, SHEQS manager at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure Nuclear, and a devoted committee member of Women in Nuclear (WiN) since May 2019, was highly commended in the Champion of the Year category.

Claire's exceptional leadership and unwavering advocacy for gender inclusion led to her well-deserved recognition.

Expressing her gratitude, Claire said: "Receiving the highly commended award from WiN UK, in recognition of the work I do, was a great surprise and honour. I am deeply passionate about ensuring everyone experiences equality in the workplace and beyond. Having this acknowledgment formally recognised drives me to do even more."

Furthermore, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure's commitment to inclusion and diversity was celebrated once again at the awards ceremony, as the company was highly commended in the Chartered Signatory of the Year category.

The establishment of their nuclear inclusion and diversity steering group played a pivotal role in securing this accolade.

The group brings together colleagues from across their Nuclear Business Unit, empowering them to contribute significantly to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Jude Ball, project manager and a member of the inclusion and diversity group said: “We are all incredibly proud of this brilliant acknowledgment of the impact we have made across our organisation, however, we know there is more that can be done. We will continue challenging industry norms and promoting gender balance through innovative practices, collaboration, and supportive policies.”

These accomplishments reinforce Morgan Sindall Infrastructure's position as a leader in the nuclear industry, driving positive change and creating a more inclusive environment for all.

The company has extended its heartfelt congratulations to all individuals who have contributed to this fantastic result.
