A hotel is launching a Sunday lunch service due to popular demand.

Jess Manley, who runs The Yan in Grasmere with her husband and Chef Will Manley, sister Georgina King – formerly Head Chef at Lake Road Kitchen - and brother-in-law and Sommelier Pete King, says that they have had an ‘overwhelming number of requests’.

She said: “After receiving an overwhelming number of requests, we’ve decided to start offering Sunday lunch.

“Since we opened in July 2019, we’ve dipped our toe in to see if there was a market for it over Easter and Mother’s Day. These trials have been incredible successes, with wicked feedback, and have given us the confidence to begin Sunday lunches going forward.

“We are really excited to introduce our Sunday lunches to The Yan and can’t wait for people to join us for their Sunday family feasting.”

The Yan’s new Sunday lunch menu include nibbles such as oxtail, beef brisket and chilli fritters, cheese and onion breadsticks with black treacle bacon, sun dried tomato chutney and goats cheese mousse.

Main courses include sharing board platters which serve two people and feature a choice of beef brisket, lamb shoulder, pork belly or sweet potato and butterbean bake.

Each platter is laden with Yorkshire puddings, rosemary roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, mash, yan stuffing, courgettes, carrots and red wine gravy.

The Yan’s Sunday lunches will be served from now on, every Sunday between 1pm and 7pm.
