Local traders are being asked to take part in an upcoming cycling festival.

This year’s Solway Coast Cycling Festival will take place in Silloth on June 4, between 10am and 5pm.

As part of the event, Cumberland Council will hold a producers’ market and is looking for traders to take part.

The council said it’s free to take part, but a fee will be charged if they need power, tables, or chairs.

Cumberland Cllr Anne Quilter, portfolio holder for vibrant and healthy places, said: “Our free family event showcases the amazing cycling routes around Silloth including the Hadrian’s Wall route.

“For the first time, we will have a town centre cycling race along with a producers' market.

“If you are local trader, sign up and take part.”
