A DIVERSE exhibition showing the talents of artists and artisans within an arts collective group is due to be held in Windermere.

After successful exhibitions in high profile venues, the South Lakes Art Collective (SLAC) has branched out to Brockhole Visitor Centre to continue the group's ever-growing reputation.

The exhibition is a celebration of the local geography of the region and members have responded to this with a wide range of approaches and interpretations.

The exhibition includes paintings, drawing, lino cuts, sculpture, textiles and photography.

Some work has taken the exhibition title literally whilst others have interpreted the theme in a more abstract way, says SLAC founder Tim Leeson.

He said: “Field, fell and fauna are all intertwined into the fabric and physical make up of the lake District.

“Some interpretations are joyous and colourful whilst others deal with things such as environment concerns or psychological dilemmas.

“In the exhibition there is reference to people and places integral to the history of the area.”

The exhibition – Field. Fell and Fauna – is due to be held at Brockhole between May 20 and September 3.
