Cumbrian businesswoman nominated in annual Women’s Business Awards

Businesswomen from across the globe will attend the annual Women’s Business Awards, held in December 2023.

The event features over 20 categories including Businesswoman of the Year, Employer of the Year, and Diversity and Inclusion Award.

There is also a 'Man of the Year' to honour the men who support women in their business or career.

Cumbrian businesswoman Caroline Howsley of the Cumbria Deaf Association was nominated for the Positivity Award.

Caroline has helped to stabilise the organisation after it was greatly impacted by Covid, as were many organisations.

She said: “Being nominated is recognition of the work that I and the team deliver to support the deaf community in Cumbria.

"Our work is a balance between community engagement and campaigning to improve access and understanding to the wider community.

“I joined CDA just over two years ago and found that my experience with hearing loss is common but still not readily supported.

"My goal is to ensure that employers, organisations and people in Cumbria get the right support, at the right time and in the right way to make Cumbria the most deaf-aware county in England.”

The awards are hosted by Women’s Business Club, a movement that empowers women to succeed in business.

This year's awards are sponsored by Unitrends and are judged by distinguished business leaders from across the country.

The Women’s Business Awards take place in multiple countries each December as part of the Women’s Business Conference, where women are celebrated and recognised for their outstanding contributions and achievements.
