THE Cumberland is celebrating after being shortlisted for three prestigious national awards.

It has been named on shortlists for the 2023 Moneyfacts Awards in three categories: best fixed rate mortgage provider; best remortgage provider and best building society mortgage provider.

The recognition has delighted colleagues at The Cumberland.

Among those welcoming the news is Gavin Lowes, a mortgage and protection advisor with The Cumberland, who is based at its Fisher Street branch in Carlisle.

“It feels really good to be recognised by somebody who is taking an objective view of the industry. I think being shortlisted for three awards like this is recognition not just of the quality of our mortgage products, but the service we give as well.

“The people I speak to about mortgages really appreciate that they can get face-to-face appointments with The Cumberland, which is not something that is offered everywhere,” he said.

The results of the Moneyfacts Awards will be revealed at a glittering ceremony in London in July.

Chris Cairns, head of products at The Cumberland, said: “We’re here to support our local community and beyond, wherever they are in their home-owning journey, be that buying their first home, moving or remortgaging.

“We do this for new and existing customers thanks to our range of great value mortgages and team of real people providing excellent customer service.

“To be recognised in this way by Moneyfacts is particularly special as they’re a leading national provider of completely impartial financial information.

“It’s a true testament to the service and products we offer, and we look forward to the results in July.”
