This week Whitehaven RL faced off against London Broncos in what was yet another difficult game.

Whitehaven suffered another defeat at the hands of the southerners continuing the pattern of regular defeats for the local side.

The team was defeated 32-10 in the capital which is another tough blow for the club who is already struggling.

Head coach Jonty Gorley was not pleased with the result. He said: "It was very frustrating, these last few weeks we've talked about how we finish our sets and there's been a lot of talk about putting it right.

"This week in London I made it all about us and how good we've got to be in different departments and we worked on it in training for two or three weeks.

"I thought they were focused and we had a good warm up but we went out at the start of the game and gave a fifth tackle penalty away and a penalty in the next set.

"They scored within two minutes and we were behind the sticks, we talk about action instead of words but nothing was different and that's what the most frustrating thing was.

"At half time I told them that they need to be better because I can't put up with how they're playing at the moment, I don't train like that, I don't coach like that.

"But they were going over that whitewash on the weekend and they're not playing as I've asked, they're not doing their job.

"That was a culmination of the halftime team talk, we talk about inviting teams in with penalties and errors and we gave them three invites on the weekend and they score off it because we can't back into it with our defense.

"I thought our defense was soft and we were very passive, there was nobody moving forward, there was nobody putting shots in. We're not working as a team and there's no communication, it's as bad as it gets."
