THIRTY staff face losing their jobs as a company has 'ceased to trade'.

Employees at the Barrow office of Me and My Health Hub at Harding Rise have been told 'redundancies will now be inevitable' as the parent company Circular 1 seeks to appoint administrators.

This is along with 40 staff in Didsbury, Manchester, according to a source from within the company.

One Circular 1 staff member told The Mail: "Anger. Anger. Pure anger. Finding another job is an issue in the economic crisis. It is not as simple as that.

"There's a lot of staff on the verge of losing their homes. I have managed to get a bit of help from my family. It is going to take months."

An internal email was sent to staff by chief executive officer Stuart MacLennan on Wednesday.

It said the directors of the company had 'sought professional advice and have concluded that the company is insolvent'.

"Accordingly, the directors have lodged a Notice of Intention to appoint Administrators with the High Court with a view to placing the company into Administration as soon as possible," the email said.

"The company has ceased to trade and steps are being taken to appoint Administrators to deal with the affairs of the company.

"Unfortunately, redundancies will now be inevitable and the directors are taking the appropriate steps to commence this process."

Circular 1 Health was a Covid-testing contractor during the pandemic but opened up a new health hub in December under Me and My Health to try and change its business model.

However just before payday in January the company sent an email to employees saying it would be unable to pay their salaries due to a deal with an investor 'changing.'

It also missed payday in February.

The staff member accused the board at Circular 1 of 'arrogance' and said that she wished the company had been more 'transparent' so staff could have been looking for other jobs.

The staff member said that they would be trying to establish what rights they had once the company is passed over to administrators.

They also said that the team was trying to support each other.
