A POPULAR networking event will return to Carlisle this week for the first in this year’s calendar.
Following a number of popular networking events throughout 2022, the networking evening will return this week to kick off the 2023 year, with a number of new 'soapbox stars'.
Hosted by Newsquest Cumbria, the in-Cumbria networking event will be held at The Halston, Carlisle, bringing together businesses from across the county on Thursday, January 26 from 5pm in the hotel’s Exchange Room.
Joy Yates, Group Editor for Newsquest Cumbria, said: "I am really looking forward to our first in-Cumbria magazine networking event of 2023. We have had a superb response already and encourage anyone who can make it to register as soon as possible. We have excellent soapboxers lined up and fantastic gin samples for our networkers.
"I am excited to share our great plans for in-Cumbria magazine and to hear more about the incredible businesses we are proud to be associated with in the county."

This week’s event will see three new soapbox stars take to the 'stage’ to talk about what makes their businesses stand out and life in the Cumbrian business community, they are:
- Natalie Barker – Founder and Virtual Assistant, M&M Business Support
- Dan McAulay – Owner, Dan McAulay Marketing
- Melanie Kinsella – Director, Kinsella HR Solutions Ltd
Helen Askew, from Carlisle-based company, The Tipsy Filly, will be sharing her gin expertise and offering samples to networkers.
