Businesses are being urged to sign up for a programme that aims to assist in post-Covid recovery.
Called Cumbria Residents’ Week, it runs from February 20 to 26 this year, with the objective to promote participating Cumbrian businesses operating within the visitor economy, such as cafes, attractions, and accommodation providers, to Cumbrian residents.
The initiative by Allerdale Borough Council offers these residents a chance to win prizes in a draw after making a qualifying purchase of over £10.
There is no cost for businesses to participate other than donating a prize, which can be anything from free entry, an overnight stay, a free meal, a gift voucher, or more.
The initiative will be administered via the Cumbria Residents’ Week webpage with participating businesses simply needing to verify a qualifying purchase by giving the customer a code, which will be provided in advance by Allerdale Borough Council.
The council said that if the scheme is well received, they hope it will become an annual fixture in the Cumbrian calendar.
To get involved and have your business’ details added to the Residents’ Week’s online directory, fill in the form, accessible on their website, by clicking here.
The council will be in touch nearer the time with further details about how the scheme will operate.
