BARROW Business Improvement District (BID) has put up new lights on Crellin Street after requests from local companies.
The lights were put up by Optech Fibres, another Barrow-based business on Andrews Way.
In a statement, Barrow BID said: "In response to Crellin Street businesses asking for lights to brighten up the darker winter evenings, we purchased lights to hang from the trees along Crellin Street. Thank you to Optech Fibres for installing these lights earlier this week, they look great!"
The BID got a positive response to the lights on social media, with some commenters saying that the lights look 'lovely.'
This is one of the first requests the BID has worked on since the appointment of its new project manager Paul Hodgson.
When Mr Hodgson started the job, he said: “I’m really excited about starting my new role as BID project manager. With so much money being invested in Barrow, there are so many opportunities on the horizon which are going to completely transform Barrow's town centre.
"I’m really looking forward to being able to work closer with them (business owners), and others to create a town centre that we can all be proud of."
