A LEADING law firm has expanded its commercial property practice.

Temple Heelis has recruited Alaisdhair MacPhie, a highly respected solicitor with an outstanding career in the North West.

Beginning his career as a trainee in a now-international law firm, Alaisdhair has held progressively senior roles in several leading North West firms and now joins Temple Heelis to bring additional property expertise to the firm’s clients.

Alaisdhair said: "I have always been fascinated by the ins and outs of property, whether property is the primary business of an organisation or because they need premises to run their business.

"I have acted for many businesses specialising in hospitality and leisure, retail automotive, manufacturing, education and not-for-profit, all of which fit so well with Temple Heelis’ specialisms. I have also been the lead partner responsible for property finance relationships, such as with the major lending banks on their panels."

Acting for property developers ranging in size from £5m to £150m turnover, Alaisdhair has advised on residential and commercial developments throughout the North West and been at the forefront of urban regeneration in many areas such as the Fylde Coast, while in hospitality and leisure he has headed up a number of significant client relationships with privately owned businesses and large chains.

Alaisdhair has also acted for businesses in the pharmaceutical sector, manufacturing and education including special needs schools and trusts.

Temple Heelis's managing partner Jamie Hamilton said: "I am absolutely delighted to welcome Alaisdhair to Temple Heelis. His track record and areas of expertise complement our existing commercial property team and will enable us to expand further.

"As a firm, we work with a wide range of business and individual clients who have commercial property and property finance needs, and Alaisdhair will be adding to our commitment to give them an outstanding service and a wealth of experience.

With a passion for the Lake District, Alaisdhair and his family moved to Witherslack just before Covid and love local life in the Lake District.

"Working in Kendal is my 'dream come true'" adds Alaisdhair.
