A broadband provider has launched a new tariff of £1 a month in response to the cost-of-living crisis.

YouFibre, which provides broadband to Carlisle residents, launched the new tariff that will see customers pay £1 a month for the first three months, and £29.99 for the remainder of their 24-month contract.

They said there will also be a price freeze for 2023, meaning no surprise price hikes mid-contract.

YouFibre already provides broadband to around 22,000 homes and offices in the UK, with growth plans for 2023.

The new tariff will be available to all new customers in Carlisle.

Ryan Battle, Managing Director at YouFibre, said: “The cost-of-living crisis has already taken a huge toll on families and businesses across the UK.

“With energy costs predicted to rise even further this year, we wanted to create tariffs that not only help alleviate the financial pressure of utility bills in the short-term but remain competitive throughout the entire contract, with no nasty surprises.

“We believe that everyone in the UK deserves access to affordable, reliable, and ultrafast broadband and are so proud to be helping make this vision a reality for more households and businesses with our new £1 tariff.”

YouFibre also launched a social tariff in 2022 which aims to provide an accessible broadband price for vulnerable people and those living in social housing, which starts at £15 a month.

Local residents and businesses in Carlisle can find out how to access full-fibre broadband from YouFibre by entering their postcode at www.youfibre.com
