A POPULAR holiday park in Cumbria has now been acquired by a larger company.

Park Holidays UK, advised by Savills, has completed the acquisition of two holiday parks in the north of England – Cottage and Glendale Holiday Park in Port Carlisle, and Chevington Castle Holiday Park in Northumberland, both from Callaly Leisure Ltd and for an undisclosed amount.

Cottage and Glendale Holiday Park is a premium holiday park development in Port Carlisle.

The site totals 300 acres (121.4 hectares) and currently has 380 pitches with planning permission granted for an extra 54 static pitches and 34 touring pitches.

It has facilities including a leisure suite, lakeside bar and bistro, mini golf course, tennis court, adventure play park, village store and laundrette.

Park Holidays UK now operates 56 holiday parks across the UK.

Richard Prestwich, director in the leisure and trade related team at Savills, said: “We are delighted to complete the acquisition of these holiday parks, which marks a significant strategic expansion for Park Holidays UK in northern England.”
