PLANS have been submitted for a new cocktail bar in Whitehaven town centre.

An application has been lodged with Copeland Council to turn a shop on Strand Street into a pre-drinking cocktail and shot bar.

The unit at 38 Strand Street is currently being used as a hairdressing salon.

In the plans, applicant Jonathan Crossley, of Whitehaven, says: “I would like to turn the premises into a pre-drinking cocktail and shot bar for the public.

“The public would need to pre-book a table.”

The bar would be facing the harbour, surrounding other local pubs and bars, the plans go on to say.

It is proposed that the bar would be open Friday to Sunday, from 12pm.
