A new coffee shop is coming to Carlisle.

Bob and Berts, a coffee shop/café business of Irish origin, will be opening its first shop in Carlisle later this month.

Bob and Berts currently have 14 cafes in Ireland, six in Scotland, and four in England, meaning that this addition will build their presence in the country.

Bob and Berts prides itself on offering what it calls ‘proper coffee’ and ‘great grub’, in the form of all day breakfasts, lunches, light bites, sweet treats, shakes, smoothies, and more.

Their menu has food ranging from cakes to full-on burgers and hotdogs, with some adventurous creations such as a hot dog topped with chips and curry sauce, and one that is topped with baked beans.

Avant-garde cuisine aside, the Bob and Berts brand can stand out from the crowd occupied by Costa, Greggs and McDonalds as an alternative choice for quick and cheap coffee and food.

Bob and Berts’ coffee prices are also worth noting, in that their largest cup of plain coffee costs just £2.50, so if buying coffee when out and about is a must, it may be cheaper here.

The menu is grand in size, making choice huge as well, pancakes, waffles, salads and loaded fries are on offer, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options to boot.

This Bob and Berts is in a great place in the city centre on Scotch Street, by the Lanes in the old Patisserie Valerie site, next to River Island.

Bob & Berts was founded in 2013 in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, by Colin McClean and David Ferguson.

As well as offering something new for potential customers to try, there are of course jobs now on offer

Recruitment is still live you can apply on Indeed or on their website, which is accessible via https://bobandberts.co.uk/carlisle-recruitment.

A spokesperson from Bob and Berts says that they are going to be creating between 45 and 50 jobs in the area.

Bob and Berts will open to the public on October 21 this year.
