A NEW British Red Cross charity shop is opening in Kendal town centre this week.
The building, on Finkle Street, next to the Birdcage in the heart of the town, has been empty since ladies fashion shop Phase Eight left the premises.
Joanne Thurman, regional retail manager for the British Red Cross, said: "We are excited to let you know that the new British Red Cross shop in Kendal opens at 7 Finkle Street in Kendal on Thursday, September 22.
"We have a treasure trove of preloved and new clothes, books, DVDs, toys and games, and a range of homeware items.
"By shopping with us you will be helping the Red Cross to continue supporting people in crisis in the community and around the world.
"We are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
"Pop in and see us soon - we look forward to welcoming you."
