A cafe and eatery with stores in west Cumbria has recetly been inspected by the council for their ‘Trading Standards Allergens Project’.

Deja Brew, with stores in Cleator Moor, Egremont and Hensigham, passed the allergens test.

A member of the council came into the store and ordered an item that was gluten free and secretly had it tested.

A spokesperson from Deja Brew said: "We’re very happy to say we passed.

"We try our very best to cater for everyone despite our small kitchen. We offer the best gluten free bread we can find for all our toastie range, so you have something to enjoy while visiting us.

"This inspection shows we are doing a good job regardless but as with everything, there is always a risk. And we hope you respect, that with our restricted space, we do try our best to keep you and your food safe. But as you can imagine the absence of such allergens is not 100% guaranteed."
