AN ICONIC Kendal performing arts venue is celebrating a big milestone this year with a series of summer performances.

The Brewery Arts Centre on Highgate is marking its 50th anniversary on Saturday, July 2, at 7 pm, with the Creative Learning students' Summer Showcase.

The performers, aged from four to over 60, have created a range of shows inspired by Brewery Arts’ past, present, and future.

Brewery Arts' Dance Engagement Officer Emily Davies has choreographed five new pieces in collaboration with her students.

She said: "I'm so looking forward to seeing each and every one of them shine on stage, particularly those for whom it will be their first time performing!"

"The showcase will be an evening of dance, drama, and music created by the local community in celebration of the arts.

Emily Baxter, Brewery Arts' Theatre Engagement Officer, said:

"This will be the first time our youth and adult classes have come together to perform in the theatre.

"There will be a range of things from hungry wolves, Brewery Arts ghosts, and a celebration of all things Creative Learning in dance, music production, film, visual art, singing, drama and even ukuleles!"

Tickets are £6-8 and can be purchased from www.breweryarts.co.uk or by calling 01539 725 133.
