A NEW nightclub is opening in the city.

Called ‘Popland’, it is a pop music nightclub that will play all the hits from the '70s to the '00s.

A throwback-style club, it will be opening next month on Botchergate - and hopes to be something extra, with a special photo booth and new cocktails on offer.

It will be open every Friday and Saturday night, from 6pm to 4am.

Luke Brown, the owner of Popland, said: “Popland is launching in Carlisle, opening on July 22.

“Expect nothing but feel-good pop from the 70s through to the naughties.

“With a £200,00 investment, expect an amazing sound system along with new lighting.

“Feel like you’re in the Bahamas on our jet ski photo booth.”

He said that the club will have new cocktails and ‘crazy’ drinks offers and that they are aiming to be the ‘place to be’.

Their grand opening will be on July 22, and customers will finally be able to find out what all the fuss was about as posters were recently installed outside the building of the club-to-be along the busy nightlife-fuelled Botchergate.

They are also currently looking for staff to apply and, in their words, ‘get paid to party’.

Popland has a host of bar, shot, promotions and floor vacancies available, which they claim come with great rates of pay, benefits and perks.

For anyone who is interested in applying for any of the new job vacancies, which include roles on the bar, as a shot-carrier and seller, promotional work and floor vacancies, they are invited to message their Facebook page.

The club’s official grand opening will be on July 22 at 6pm, lasting ten hours, all the way through to the early hours of the following day at 4am on July 23.
