ALDI is recruiting new colleagues in Cumbria as a result of its continued expansion in the area.

In a welcome boost to the local economy, the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket is currently recruiting for 20 Store Assistant roles.

Stores in Cumbria where Aldi is looking to hire for these roles include Beehive Business Park in Ulverston and Appleby Road in Kendal.

As the UK’s best paying supermarket, Aldi pays all Store Assistants at least £10.10 an hour nationally, rising to £11 with long service.

The supermarket remains the only supermarket to offer paid breaks, which for the average store colleague is worth £750 a year.

Aldi is a multi-award-winning employer that claims to offer one of the best working environments and competitive benefits packages in the UK supermarket sector.

Aldi also creates opportunities for colleagues to develop and progress and has flexible contracts available, as well as healthcare and lifestyle perks.

Kelly Stokes, Recruitment Director at Aldi, said: “We are really excited about creating even more jobs in Cumbria. Aldi’s increased popularity and customer demand for quality products allows us to keep growing and create more employment opportunities across the region.

“Working at Aldi means more than just having a job - we really care about our colleagues, both personally and professionally. On top of our competitive pay and benefits package, Aldi continues to offer a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business.”
