A POPULAR pub has undergone an extensive refurbishment worth more than £200,000.

The Kings Arms, located in The Square, Cartmel, has seen the creation of seven new rooms on its top floor as well as having its downstairs floor completely redone.

The project began back when Anthony Smith took on the business in May 2021.

The first steps of the work were completed in September last year while the current work has been ongoing for the last four weeks.

The new addition to the business is expected to attract more customers and help the pub and restaurant expand further.

Mr Smith said: “We had the downstairs area down in May last year not long after we took over.

“Upstairs is currently underway and we are about to fit in seven new rooms which we are very excited about.

“We are also looking for people to fill vacancies that we have on offer at the moment. We are looking for chefs, a front of team, night porters and housekeeping staff.”
