A CARLISLE-based organisation were declared the best in the business at a recent awards ceremony.

Clark Door Limited joined over sixty family business finalists from across the region at The North West Family Business Awards on Friday 13th May.

The Awards, held at Liverpool’s iconic Titanic Hotel, celebrated family businesses of all sizes and sectors covering Cumbria, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

A capacity crowd of over 400 gathered on the night to see the winners of the region’s best family businesses revealed. Hosting the evening were Awards founders, Sue Howorth and Dave Clarkson and food writer and presenter, Nigel Barden.

Clark Door Limited named as a finalist earlier this year, were announced as the winner of the Manufacturing category on the night.

Andrew Ashley, managing director said: “We were thrilled to be flying the flag for Cumbria and to be awarded Best Manufacturer in the North West. As a growing and ambitious family business, this award provides external recognition for the hard work and talent of the staff that make up the Clark Door team. It was great to celebrate this achievement with some of our workforce at the Awards’ night.”

Clark Door is a family-owned company that designs, manufactures, services and installs a wide range of special purpose door systems; including acoustic, fire-rated, temperature-controlled and industrial doors.  The company’s doors are designed and manufactured in Carlisle, Cumbria and have been exported to more than 45 countries worldwide. 

The company’s highly engineered door solutions sit at the heart of many prestigious buildings including the Royal Opera House London, the Qatar National Convention Centre and the NFL’s Los Angeles Broadcasting Studio, to name a few. In 2020, the company received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, in recognition of its achievements in international markets.
