A popular village pub has been handed a new four out of five food hygiene rating.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0, with 5 meaning standards are very good and 0 requesting urgent improvement.
The Duke of Cumberland, at the Duke Of Cumberland Inn, Castle Carrock, was given the 'four' score after an assessment on April 8, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

Standards found at the time of inspection show that the premise was awarded a 'good' rating when it come to management of food safety and hygienic handling of food, along side a 'generally satisfactory' when it came to the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.
It means that of Carlisle's 98 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 84 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
