A MAN has launched his own interior design business in Northumberland.

Simon Marcs (42) from Ovingham has set up his own interior design company, Simon has been working in the design industry for 22 years on projects across the world.

The past seven years, Simon has been leading well known Design/Build & Architectural Restoration company where he was Lead designer & Director.

Marc has now decided that this is the right time to set up his own studio which will be based in Stocksfield at the Stocksfield Hall Business Park.

Simon has said he is 'dedicated' to to the highest level of detail and creative development within the kitchen and interior architecture world.

On why he wanted to start his own business Simon said: "I got to a point where i decided i wanted to set up on my own, i am 42 i thought if i don't do it now then i will never do it.

"I took the leap about four/five months ago."

Simon hopes that the new studio in Stocksfield will be open in January 2020 so people can go and check out his work.

In his new role Simon wants to be involved with every aspect of the design process, from project managing the initial concept through to the installation and completion of the final piece so that he can insure 'a thought out and considered finish.'

On whether or not Simon found the decision to set up on his own hard, he said: "It was a decision that i had come to over a long period of time. I have always wanted to develop something on my own.

"Financially it was incredibly difficult, i had left the security of a very good job to try and follow a dream.

"It was very difficult but with the support of my wife and family they told me to go for it."

Simon has been passionate about interior design since he was a student, he started off designing bars in Newcastle, when he got asked to go into the design office and assist.

Since then Simon has shared his expertise across the world and is looking forward to continuing his passion across the County.
