THE A69 has reopened in both directions following a crash.
The closure was between the B6319 at Greenhead, and the A6079 at Acomb.
Northumbria Police were called to the scene.
During the closure, National Highways North-East asked people to take extra care on their journey and allow extra time.
"Shortly after 6.20am today (Wednesday), we received a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a van and a lorry on the A69 westbound near Haydon Bridge", said a Northumbria Police spokesman.
"Emergency services are at the scene. The road has been closed in both directions and a diversion is in place."
The road has since reopened.
