A NEW handmade goods business has finally moved into its new premises after a month in the making.

Two friends, Andrea Septhon, 49, from Kendal and Joanne Eva, 38 from Walney who owned two separate handmade item stalls in Barrow market have relocated and opened a shop on Brogden street, Ulverston, Ambient Paradise and Pretty Flamingo Boutique.

Andrea said it has been an exhausting month but herself and Jo are excited to start meeting customers again.

She said: “We’ve been getting organised and sorted for the past month now, it’s been tiring but it will all be worth it.

“We’ve been waiting for things to arrive, and some things have been happening that sets us back but we are as sorted as we can be for now – we are in no rush, we want to take our time.

“A few people have been passing by looking in the window and we’ve received some positive responses from people so far, so we are very happy with how it’s turned out.

“I brought my 75 year old mum down and she was dead pleased with how it looked.

“I was so proud of myself and Jo especially because I know how proud my dad would be, he would always make suggestions and critique me.

“He was my number one fan.”

The pair specialise in making and selling handmade items. Andrea sells handmade jewellery. Her business hit off when she made cremation jewellery for her family after her dad passed away. Jo sells handmade wax melts, home fragrances and bath and body specials.

As an opening treat for customers the duo has 10 per cent off all in-store items for one day only.

The shop will be open from Wednesday – Friday 9:30am till 4pm and Saturday 9:30am till 4:30pm.

Andrea said they are taking a trial-and-error approach to their business which is all part of the experience.

She said: “We are only going to open for the four days for now as a trial and error, if we feel like we do need to open another day or close then we can.

“That’s the beauty of an independent business and having two owners.”
