A BUSINESS owner has jumped at the opportunity of giving high street retail a go in new pop-up shop scheme.

Earlier this month it was announced that Barrow BID were introducing a pop-up shop where businesses could try high street retail for a short period of time and see if it is right for them before permanently moving into their own premises.

Business owner and events singer, Becki Fishwick, 38, jumped at the opportunity and is the first business owner to move into the pop-up store.

On Saturday, October 30, Rose Vintage will be taking over the premises for two months on Dalton Road, Barrow from 10am till 5pm

Rose Vintage sells real, authentic vintage pieces and retro style clothing, accessories, homeware, shoes, records and much more.

Becki already has experience in the retail business as this time last year she was selling her retro items at a shared shop in Ulverston.

She said: “Over the course of lockdown my business just wasn’t surviving so I ended up parting my ways from the Ulverston shop.

“At that point I mentioned to Barrow Bid that if there was any empty shops in the area to let me know. Barrow BID manger, Colin Garnett later got in touch with me about the pop-up shop idea they were doing and I said ‘let’s do it’.”

Becki who has always hand a passion for vintage fashion and retro items said she is excited to open in Barrow and bring some life back to the high street especially with her stock as there is a real gap in the market for this attire.

She said: “I wanted to do it in Barrow as there are so many cool and trending people who love this kind of fashion.”
