YOUNG people across Cumbria are being encouraged to apply for the dream placement scheme- ahead of it's closing date next week.

The Dream Placement Scheme, which is ran by the Centre for Leadership Performance encourages young people to become involved in industry.

The mission of the organisation is to develop Cumbria’s leaders of today and tomorrow.

Young people aged 16-18 can learn about career opportunities and interact with leaders within companies operating in Cumbria, and bosses can connect directly with their future workforce, and discover their dreams and ambitions.

The deadline for students and companies to be part of Dream Placement 2022 is Monday, October 25.

More than 30 companies have already signed up for the programme which will blend online and actual engagement between 16-18 year olds and companies and organisations.

CforLP Executive Director Sarah Glass explains: “Simon Rogan’s organisation is one of our partners that has already seen the value in engaging with young people through Dream Placement. We would like to see more hotels and restaurants following their lead. Cumbria is facing a huge challenge across a range of business sectors from nuclear and infrastructure to social care and education.
