A CARLISLE-BASED painting and decorating contractor has scooped five accolades at a flagship industry awards ceremony.

Story Decorating Group was named winner of the Residential category at the Painting and Decorating Association’s (PDA) Premier Trophy Awards.

Communications Manager, Claire Story, said: “It’s absolutely amazing.

"We were delighted to be there at the awards ceremony, which was a fantastic event.

“The knowledge of the judges when they came out to visit the projects was incredible and it’s an honour to hear them talk about the work we’ve done.

“They are seasoned professionals and we really respect their opinion, so to have them confirm we’ve done a good job just means so much.”

The Premier Trophy Awards sees a panel of judges examine projects across the UK in a bid to showcase the highest quality standards in the trade.

Story won the Residential category with a project at Caton Court in Lancaster and received Highly Commended and Very Highly Commended awards in the Commercial and New Build categories.

Claire added: “The award shows the level of commitment from our team and the quality of work they produce, which is outstanding across the board.

“To have five projects at this level is a credit to our team and the way we have adapted to the market, to ensure we are providing what our clients need.”
