A RECRUITMENT call for teaching assistants has been launched by the county council.
Cumbria County Council is recruiting both senior teaching assistants and teaching assistants to join its Learning Support Service.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We support children with a variety of specific needs and are looking for friendly, enthusiastic TAs, who are looking for flexibility within their role."
Assistant teaching roles are available in Carlisle, Eden, Lakeland, Copeland, Barrow.
A job posting for the roles in Carlisle promises a £10.21 per hour salary for teaching assistants, rising to between £11.50 and 11.96 per hour for seniors.
Hours vary as the roles are on a zero hour contract.
The job posting says that applicants must be contactable by phone and able to work at short notice.
The expected reasonable distance to travel is 15 miles.
A relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent is required for the teaching assistant role and a relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent is required for the senior teaching assistant role.
