Mysterious hole appears in town cemetery
A MYSTERIOUS hole has been identified in Whitehaven.
Earlier this afternoon the borough council were made aware of a hole that has appeared in Whitehaven Cemetery.
On their Facebook page the council said: "We have been made aware that a hole, around 40cm wide, has been identified in the old part of Whitehaven Cemetery.
"The area has been cordoned off while further investigations take place and measures are in place to keep the public safe."
The council have asked members of the public to stay aware from the area at this time.
