A popular car company has chosen Carlisle as the site for one of its first dealerships.

Bristol Street Motors will be establishing its first MG Dealership in our city.

It will be based on the Carlisle's Kingstown Industrial Estate and will showcase a range of new and used cars.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Bristol Street Motors, said: "I am delighted to announce the introduction of MG to our portfolio of manufacturers.

"MG is an iconic British motoring brand, famous for building sporty, exciting, and value-for-money cars which are always fun to drive."

This is an exciting business opportunity for the local area and should be a good boost for the local economy and the city's prosperity.

It encapsulates the merging of a company that has already well established itself in the area with a reputable car manufacturer.

Along with the showcase of some great vehicles the site will also come with facilities for electric vehicles which are growing massively in popularity at the moment.

The site will offer charging stations, servicing and after sales.

It will offer a full range of MG products from the MG3 supermini through to the outstanding and dynamic MG HS.

Other much sought after vehicles will also be available for purchase.

Including: the ZS and MG5 EV models and HS Plug-in Hybrid showing Bristol Street Motor's dedication to providing quality electric or hybrid vehicles.

For customers peace of mind all vehicles are sold with a respectable 7-year manufacturer warranty.

There will be specialist advice provided to Mobility customers.

Sales professionals advice will be ready for you to guide you through the process of choosing the best vehicle.

This will ensure that all requirements of the individual customer are met.

Mr Forrester added: "It will be our third franchise in the city, demonstrating our commitment to the North West and cementing our place as the dealer group representing the most brands.

This will be the 33rd manufacturer represented by Vertu Motors plc which is the most of any car dealership group in the UK.

Britol Street Motors is one of the main brands operated by Vertu Motors which is the fifth largest automative retailer in the UK.

Out of their 154 dealerships across the country this will be the third to be functioning in Carlisle.

Which, as Robert Forrester explained, shows a strong bond developing between the company and our local area.

It will likely be a good economic venture for Bristol Street Motors and provide the local community with more job opportunities.

As well as a place to buy their vehicles from and engage with the steady transition to electric vehicles which the dealership branch will cater too.

MG Motor Commercial Director, Guy Pigounakis, said: "We are delighted to welcome Bristol Street into the MG family and the Carlisle location represents a great opportunity for us in the North-West.

"Working with a group as high profile as this shows just how far and how quickly MG has grown in recent years and, with our rapidly growing EV portfolio in particular, we look forward to a long-lasting a fruitful relationship with the dealer group."

David Brown, the General Manager at Bristol Street Motors MG Carlisle added: "We're very proud that this is the first MG brand within the Bristol Street Motors Group.

"It is going to expand through the group to hopefully five or six more dealerships so I'm very proud that we're the first to have the brand above the door.

"We will be offering a facility to service your vehicles including collections and deliveries and we will be able to provide parts for your vehicles and accessories anything that you need."
