Plans have submitted for a new karaoke venue for the centre of Workington.
The applicant, who is the owner of the building and the previous retail business, is seeking to create a new enterprise that will diversify the economy within Workington town centre and prevent the unit at Wilson Street, Workington, becoming vacant.
According to plans, the proposed music/karaoke venue is aiming to attract a broad range of customers by providing "an alternative leisure venue operating throughout the day and early evening."
The applicant added: The range of small parties catered for may include, but is not limited to, for example, birthday parties, baby showers, corporate away days, hen/stag parties.
"The proposal will offer a unique leisure use within West Cumbria and will attract visitors to Workington town centre from other areas, diversifying the town’s leisure and evening economies."
