SCANDAL: Wayne Rooney was pictured in a hotel room with three young women on a night out in Manchester
POLICE have investigated allegations England star Wayne Rooney was a victim of blackmail.
A report was made to Cheshire Police over a potential attempt of extortion against the Derby County manager after pictures circulate online of Rooney in a hotel room with three women.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said following an investigation no further action will be taken.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "On Monday July 26 Cheshire Constabulary received reports of a possible blackmail relating to a number of images circulating online.
"Officers have spoken to the person involved and are satisfied that no offences have taken place.
"The person involved has also stated that they do not wish to take the matter any further."
