A HUGELY popular festival raised more than £1,300 in its triumphant return.
Summer Soul in the Park took place at Barrow Park Bandstand on Sunday, with all funds going towards Action for Children.
Crowds of festival-goers turned up to the event which featured DJs playing the best of ‘Soul Music’ from vinyl only - from Stax to Motown to Northern and Modern Soul.
Last year's festival was forced to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year's festival raised an incredible £1,371 for Action for Children.
Brian George, event organiser, thanked the 'generous people' for emptying their pockets towards the cause.
He said: "Thanks to all the DJ's, Park Rangers, Danny, Geller, Steve and Des. But most of all thanks to you warm and generous Barrow and district people."
