A CAMPSITE has opened its gates this summer for a wild experience.
The Camping at Hayfield opened its gates on July 15, to wild campers who wanted to explore Ulverston and its surroundings.
With stunning panoramic views, you’ll feel the special Camping at Hayfield atmosphere.
Co-owner of the site, Beverly Sawrey, said it has been a mad couple of days, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“My husband, Anthony, and I are outdoorsy people, we love people and we are all about people having a good time.
“We went out to New Zealand last year and got back just in time before they shut us down and because of Covid and no international travel, we decided to open our own campsite.
“Ulverston also has so much to offer. There is so much around Ulverston and the surrounding areas to do we just thought we’d give it a try.
Mrs Sawrey, who owns Woodside Diary Farm, said this venture is just something else after working in the NHS for 20 years.
“I just recently left my main job, but I still work part time down at the Glaxo Covid centre.
“I am a very hands-on person and wanted to start a new venture.
“We tried to make it a bit nice even though it is wild, we will be there every day greeting the people telling them what to do and where to go.
“With fresh water, toilets and barbecues permitted, it’s guaranteed to make your stay a memorable one.”
“We wanted to offer people something that we enjoy every day.”
