FARMERS in the lakes who have been experiencing litter and anti-social behaviour are asked to come forward.

Friends of the Lake District have been undertaking some research with Keep Britain Tidy and YouGov looking at the problem of litter and anti-social behaviour in the Lake District.

As part of this they are very keen to hear from Lake District farmers who are directly experiencing litter and anti-social behaviour problems.

If you would like to get involved then please e-mail Kate Willshaw at kate-willshaw@fld.org.uk

Meanwhile, the Lake District National Park Association are looking for an Assistant Farming officer to help with the delivery of the Farming in Protected Landscape scheme as well as other Agricultural Transition Plan schemes.

The role will involve working with the Farming Officer to help raise awareness of the Farming in Protected Landscape scheme throughout the farming community. This will involve visiting farmers to discuss and help submit applications that fit the scheme criteria. The post holder will also encourage farmers and land managers to take new opportunities available to them, as well as help them better understand the public goods on their land.
