A DELIGHTED couple are set to finally walking down the aisle after rearranging their wedding FIVE times in less than a year.

Roz Whiteley, who is originally from Cartmel, has been in a relationship with fiancée Jose Cabrita for five and a half years.

The lovestruck pair ‘never looked back’ after swiping right into each other’s hearts on the popular dating app Tinder.

Mr Cabrita decorated the couple’s Liverpool home in fairy lights and candles before popping the question to his wife-to-be.

Last year, the pair had intended to marry in Spain to accommodate Mr Cabrita’s family who live all over the world.

However, this had to be cancelled due to restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Four attempts later, the couple are ‘confident’ they can tie the knot on June 29 at the Broadoaks Country House Hotel in Troutbeck.

Miss Whiteley, who works as a music therapist, said: “We’ve been so close to getting married every time but the rules seem to always change.

“It’s been really stressful and upsetting.

"Although we’re confident this wedding will go ahead, it’s upsetting that Jose’s family can’t be there for the day but we’re planning on videoing them in.

“It got to the point where we were rearranging it so many times and thought actually getting married and starting a family is more important so let’s try to do this when we can.”

Miss Whiteley described the past year as a ‘rollercoaster of emotions’ but is hopeful the end of June will finally mean she can become Mrs Cabrita.

“It actually feels real now as the day is approaching, it’s really exciting,” she said.

“We can’t wait for the big day - we’ve got a welly-throwing competition and a balloon-making contest, it’s just going to be so much fun.

“Hopefully we can lift everyone’s spirits after the past year.”
