WINDERMERE'S Shepherds boating sales company has announced it will be continuing its popular charter service.

The boat sales company is expected to return to the water in June and continue its charter service on Windermere which has been in operation since 2015.

The company has also partnered with a long established charter service based in Mallorca who offer will three news boats; two Princess motor cruisers, and an Oyster sailing yacht.

Managing Director Darren Grundy said: "Our charter business was in effect put on hold in 2020 and we’ve had to drastically change the format of the service due to Covid. So we’re delighted to announce we’ll now be operating a stunning classic open day boat – a 1972 Colombo Super Indios 18.

"She’s presently being serviced and prepped and we hope to be taking our first clients out in June.

"The charters prove very popular for weddings, proposals, anniversaries, birthdays and with couples or small families seeking a private charter tour.

"We’re actively looking to bring more boats in to our charter fleet and due to the open setting we expect to be able to continue to operate under most Covid restrictions.

"We’re open 7 days a week from our offices at Windermere Marina Village, and we’re contactable every day from 9am to 9pm.

"We now have a completely new approach to our boat sales activities from when I initially took over – supported by Carl who’s had over 30 years in the business, and George who has spent most of his 21 years in, on, and behind boats on Windermere.

"We also have Nigel supporting our Customer Service and Charter offering, and Steve supporting our sailing yacht clientele, Nicola and David manage the Financials.

"Additionally, we now have a Boathouse and indoor/ outdoor boat storage offering. We’ve taken on some new Dealerships meaning we’ve got more stock due in soon, and we’ve got some very exciting new developments in the pipeline that we’ll look forward to sharing news about soon.

"The business is in great shape, not where I thought it might be during those grim days in March and April 2020.

"Turnover and profits have risen steeply, our projections and plans for 2022 and beyond are very exciting, and we have plans in place to ensure we continually improve the services and service levels we offer to our clients."
