FORMER Barrow nightspot The Knights is going up for auction after undergoing a ‘substantial’ refurbishment.

New pictures have been released of the former pub ahead of its auction this Thursday.

The Knights, on Dalkeith Street, was owned by Five (UK) Ltd before the company went into liquidation in 2019. The building was sold at auction in 2019 fetching £65,000 after failing to attract a buyer for the original listed price of £225,000.

The striking three storey former pub has been refurbished by developers and is being sold in a ‘part finished’ state. Refurbishments include a new bar area and the potential for a residential upper floor.

Bidders can make an offer when the property goes under the hammer at 10am in a live streamed SDLProperty Auction.

It has a guide price of £140,000.

The property listing details the extensive work that has gone into transforming the premises.

Boasting 5,169 sq.ft of space, work has been done to the walls and roof including new windows.

Internally on the ground floor is a newly-fitted bar including radiators, sunken lights, new floor and bar area, electrics, replastering and ceiling tiles.

On the first floor there are new WCs and function rooms with new laminate flooring and plastering.

The property is being sold with vacant possession ahead of the opening up of the hospitality sector this summer.

Despite being unfinished, the listing said investors, with ‘minimal effort’, could bring the rooms up standard with potential to turn the upper floors into a house of multiple occupancy.
